Hello Dreame Team,
I am an independent contributor to an open-source Homey integration for Dreame and MOVA robotic lawn mowers.
I am not the original developer or maintainer of the integration. I discovered the project through the community and occasionally contribute improvements through pull requests. The maintainer reviews these contributions independently and decides whether they are merged into the project.
As part of one of my contributions, I have implemented optional live camera support for supported mower models such as the Dreame A2.
The implementation is intended to work only with the user's own Dreame/MOVA account and the user's own mower.
The live video feature works as follows:
- The user authenticates with their own Dreame/MOVA account.
- Live video is only available for devices and accounts where the camera feature is already enabled and authorized by Dreame/MOVA.
- The integration uses only the video provisioning and device information made available for that authenticated user's own mower.
- The video stream is displayed locally on the user's own Homey system.
- The integration does not bypass account permissions.
- It does not enable camera access on unsupported or unauthorized devices.
- It does not access other users' devices or video streams.
- No Dreame/MOVA user credentials or device-specific secrets are distributed with the integration.
- No proprietary Dreame/MOVA application binaries are redistributed.
- The Tencent XP2P SDK is obtained separately from its official Maven Central distribution and is only initialized when the user enables and uses the video feature.
- The integration is open source and does not provide a separate commercial cloud video service.
Before this contribution can potentially become part of a public Homey App Store release, I would like to clarify whether Dreame permits this type of use.
Could an authorized Dreame representative please confirm whether an independent open-source smart-home integration may use the video provisioning information provided to an authenticated Dreame/MOVA user in order to display the live camera stream of that user's own mower?
In particular, I would appreciate confirmation that this use is permitted when:
- the user owns the mower or is otherwise authorized to access it,
- the user authenticates with their own Dreame/MOVA account,
- existing Dreame/MOVA permission checks are respected,
- the stream is used only for that user's own device,
- no Dreame/MOVA proprietary application binaries are redistributed,
- and the integration does not operate an external video relay or cloud recording service.
If there are specific API, SDK, licensing, developer or partner terms that should apply to this type of integration instead, I would also be grateful if you could point me to the relevant documentation or contact person.
If needed, I can provide additional technical details or a link to the relevant open-source contribution for review.
Thank you very much for your clarification and support.
Kind regards
Oliver / daCream87
