I just found out that the cleaning detergent/solution container is still as full as when I first filled it (about 3/4 full) and I have used the machine for about 4 weeks.
I looked into the settings and "automatic adding" is activated. I also tried to deactivate it and activate it again to see if anything happens, but it wont. Also tried to take the container out a couple of times and putting it back, also won't work.
So, when dreame is mopping it only uses water, no cleaning solution (the original from dreame).
The robot automatically dispenses the detergent, using about 2 ml per cleaning cycle, so yes, the consumption is very low. If you really want to be sure, pour the detergent into a graduated measuring cup, and after 10 days, pour it back into the robot—you’ll see how much has been used.
As for the claim that the robot only cleans with fresh water, that’s absolutely not true. The robot uses the same system we use when manually cleaning the floor. In that case, you dip the cloth into water and detergent. The robot does exactly the same: it washes the mops with water and detergent, and with those soaked mops, it cleans the floor.
You can also easily set the robot to return for mop washing after a certain number of square meters or within a shorter time interval.
As said before, I use the system for about a month (I guess including testruns about 40/50 mop cycles. And yes, no drop of the detergent is used, the container is as full as the Day I filled it.
