Mopping on carpet

My botvac has just vacuumed a carpeted area, it's a new floor it hasn't done before. Now that it's back on the dock it says it is drying the mop, why would it be drying the mop if it was on carpeted floor?
Thanks

that’s normal. even if it only did carpet the dock will still run the mop drying cycle when it returns so the pads don’t stay damp and start smelling. it doesn’t mean it actually mopped the carpet, it’s just the station doing its usual maintenance.
Yes not an issue.
Hello, thank you for contacting Dreame.

What is your device model? Regarding the issue you described, what mode did you set for the robot vacuum cleaner?

L40 Ultra AE, I read the above comments and another concern is that it puts liquid stain markers on the carpeted area in the map which still makes me think it has moped

that’s just how the map works on the l40 ultra ae. the liquid markers don’t always mean it actually mopped there, it can just show areas where the mop pads were attached or where mopping is possible. on carpet the robot should lift the mop pads and only vacuum. the dock will still run the mop drying cycle when it returns as part of normal maintenance even if no mopping actually happened.

Hello,

Based on your description, it is very likely that the robot mopped the carpet.

You can tap on the carpet area in the map to check whether it is set to “Ignore.”If the “Ignore” mode is enabled, the robot will disregard the carpet and perform mopping on the carpeted area.

hope the above information is helpful to you.
