X50 Ultra Confused with mixed vacuum then mop schedule

Sometimes the X50 gets confused during a scheduled cleaning. The schedule has a vacuum only portion and then a vacuum/mop portion, then another vacuum only portion....between the vacuum/mop and the vacuum only at the end, the robot repeatedly leaves the base without mop pads (as intended), but immediately returns to clean the mop pads and then takes them with it. It then immediately returns to the base to clean the mop pads and leaves then for the vacuum only portion.....then it just returns and repeats the cycle of picking up the mop pads again....until the clean water tank is empty and it returns an error.  Doesn't happen every time, but has happened at least 3 times. I've owned the robot for 4 months.

Any idea how to fix this?

Hello, thank you for contacting Dreame.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. Please follow these steps to troubleshoot:

1. Check if the drive wheel is entangled in foreign objects.

2. Confirm that the LDS sensor is rotating normally. Gently touch the LDS sensor cover to check if the rebound is normal.

3. Check the LDS rotating parts for foreign objects or hair that may obstruct rotation or cause them to stop operating. If so, please remove them.

4. Check the machine surface for unevenness, peeling stickers, or large objects.

5. Gently tap the impact plate to confirm its rebound is normal.

6. Wipe the laser sensor and AI recognition sensor to ensure there are no fingerprints or dust.

7. Try restarting the main unit. If the problem persists, the main unit needs to be sent back for repair.

If the problem still exists after checking the above steps, please contact us promptly. Thank you!

that sounds more like a schedule or map logic issue than a sensor problem. it’s worth checking that the vacuum only and vacuum+mop zones in the schedule aren’t overlapping and that carpet areas are marked correctly on the map as that can sometimes make it keep switching pad states. you could also try deleting and recreating the schedule or restoring or remapping the map to reset the zone logic. also check the mop pad auto install and remove setting in the dock options as mixed schedules with pad removal can sometimes cause the robot to loop like that.

I’d agree to check the logic.  Possibly adjust the order to group tasks.

could also try setting a manual room cleaning order so it finishes the vacuum+mop areas first and the vacuum only areas after. that can sometimes stop it going back and forth to the dock to keep installing and removing the mop pads.
