Dreame X40 Ultra abnormal clicking and dragging noise (new unit

Hello,

I have a Dreame X40 Ultra that is only about 1 month and 20 days old. Currently, the device is producing abnormal clicking and dragging/scraping noises during operation, especially when moving between areas.

The clicking sound becomes more noticeable in mopping mode, and there is also a clear dragging sound at higher speeds, as if part of the robot is making contact with the floor.

This issue was not present when the device was new. I have already cleaned all components and ensured proper installation, but the problem persists.

Additionally, about 20 days ago, I visited the authorized dealer in Jordan due to a different abnormal noise. The main brush was replaced with a TriCut brush, and that issue was resolved at the time.

However, it is not reasonable for a product of this price and age to develop repeated abnormal noises within such a short period. I should not be required to repeatedly visit service centers within the first month of use.

This clearly raises concerns about product quality and reliability.

At this point, I am not looking for another temporary fix. I expect a proper resolution under warranty. Given how new the unit is, a replacement would be the most appropriate solution rather than repeated repairs.

Please confirm clearly whether this behavior is normal. If not, I expect this case to be handled accordingly and escalated if necessary.

I can provide video evidence if needed.

Thank you.

that definitely doesn’t sound normal, especially for a unit that new. clicking and dragging noises usually point to something physically catching or misaligned, like the mop assembly, side brush housing or even debris stuck deeper inside where it is not easy to see. since you already cleaned everything and even had the main brush replaced recently, it makes sense to be concerned about a bigger quality issue rather than a simple maintenance problem. the fact that it gets worse in mopping mode could mean the mop pads or lifting mechanism are not sitting correctly or are applying uneven pressure.

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

That’s exactly what I was suspecting, especially since the noise gets worse in mopping mode.

I’ve already handed the device to the authorized dealer for inspection, so I’ll wait and see what they find.

Thanks again.

Hello, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing. Regarding the abnormal noise issue, we kindly suggest that you try the following troubleshooting steps:

Step 1: Initial check
Please remove the side brush, main brush cover, main brush, and mop pad holder from the bottom of the robot. Then start the robot and observe its operation.
Step 2: If the noise disappears
Please reinstall the components one by one and test after each step:

Install the side brush first and start the robot.

If abnormal noise occurs, please check whether the side brush is deformed or tangled.

If the side brush works normally after installation:

The rubber strip of the main brush cover may be slightly rubbing against the floor. You may continue using the robot for several cleaning cycles to observe whether the noise resolves on its own.

If abnormal noise occurs after installing the main brush:

Please remove the main brush and check whether either end of the brush is tangled.
When reinstalling the main brush cover, please ensure that all four sides are properly and securely fitted.

Step 3: If the noise still persists

After powering off the robot, please press down on both sides of the main wheels and slide them, checking whether they rotate smoothly and rebound normally when released. Remove any foreign objects if found.
Please rotate the omnidirectional (front caster) wheel to confirm that it turns smoothly. If not, clean it thoroughly.
If the filter has been washed with water, please ensure it is completely dry before use, as a damp filter may cause abnormal noise during operation.

If the issue still persists after completing the above steps, you may contact your seller or authorized dealer for further assistance.
