Mapping incomplete

I have tasked my Robot Cleaner L40 ultra with mapping an area whilst cleaning at the same time. It did most of it accurately but didn’t entirely map the floor space in a couple of areas. What should I do?

A similar thing happened to me with my L50. I somehow missed the mapping stage during set up and it went straight to creating the map as it cleaned. But it wasn’t perfect as there were obstacles in the way. I wasn’t sure if it would update and add to the current map during the next scheduled clean if I moved things out of the way, so, first as last, I decided to ask it to map the area only, and it created a new map. It’s much better now and I’ve since deleted the original map.

Please don't worry. The robot can automatically detect and update the map during subsequent cleaning tasks.

We recommend that you simply let the robot perform another full-home cleaning task. During the cleaning process, it will continue to explore unmapped areas and update the map automatically, which should help complete the missing sections.

If while mapping it did not think it could get past (sometimes it wants a bigger gap than you expect for this) on future cleans it will update the map and find new places and new obstacles to avoid. Don’t worry at this point but if you can move more stuff out of the way so it can get around more it will help the mapping while it’s out learning and cleaning.
