I have a DreameBot L10 Ultra running firmware 4.3.9_1624.
After a recent firmware change, the robot has developed a serious docking problem that appears to be caused by the mop-control sequence.
When returning to the base station, the robot lowers the mop pads and spins them while it is attempting to climb the dock ramp. The pads contact the ramp and create enough friction that the drive wheels lose traction. The robot therefore cannot climb into the dock and cannot charge.
The diagnostic result is very clear:
Mop pads installed: fails to climb/dock.
Mop pads removed: docks normally.
The dock has not moved and the hardware setup has not changed.
I am aware that Dreame has changed mop rotation/lift behaviour during docking through firmware on L10-series robots before, and there are other users reporting similar problems where lowered/spinning mop pads interfere with the docking ramp.
This is not acceptable behaviour for an otherwise functional robot. A software update should not render automatic docking and charging unusable.
@Dreame Support: please escalate this to the firmware team.
I am specifically requesting either: - a rollback from firmware 4.3.9_1624 to the previous working firmware; or
- a firmware fix correcting when the mop pads are lowered/spun/retracted during the docking sequence.
I can provide a video showing the robot failing with the mop pads fitted and immediately docking successfully after the pads are removed, as well as device logs and the robot serial number privately.
Please do not treat this simply as a dirty sensor or charging-contact problem. The problem is mechanically reproducible based on whether the mop pads are installed.
