I have only just received my Dreame T16 Pro Steam, but my first impressions are extremely positive. The build quality and finish are excellent, and I particularly like the copper colour — it looks very premium in person.

The 200°C steam function is impressive. From switching on the steam, it takes around 30 seconds to reach full power, which I think is perfectly reasonable. What surprised me most is how quiet the steam system is — I can barely hear the steam generator at all during operation.

Another pleasant surprise is the exchangeable battery. The battery is a substantial 97.2 Wh / 5,000 mAh unit, and it can be physically removed and replaced. This is a major advantage for me and makes the machine much more practical for longer-term use.

The 9.85 cm low-reach design is also excellent. I have furniture with clearances of approximately 10 cm, 16 cm and 20 cm, and the T16 can get underneath my sofa and bed very easily. It is one of the main reasons I chose this model.

I also checked the roller’s edge coverage carefully. There is approximately 1 cm between the roller and the side edges, which is very good. From the front there is around 4 cm of space, so the T16 isn’t quite as effective at front-on edge cleaning as Dreame’s models with the robotic edge-cleaning arm. However, the side coverage is excellent and overall I think the compromise is worthwhile, particularly given how slim the machine is.

The machine also has some nice details that aren’t immediately obvious from the specifications. There are three ambient-light modes, with adjustable brightness, and I have reduced mine to around 50%. The lighting is useful for seeing dirt and water on the floor without being unnecessarily bright.

The voice guidance is quite loud at the default setting, but fortunately the volume can be adjusted. I reduced mine to 50%, which is much more comfortable.

When I connected it to the Dreame app, it immediately installed a new software update (version 2.8.1_1045), so setup was straightforward.

Overall, my first impression is that Dreame has produced a very sophisticated floor cleaner here. The combination of 200°C steam, very low 9.85 cm reach, excellent side-edge cleaning, quiet steam operation, removable 97.2 Wh battery and premium build quality makes the T16 Pro Steam a particularly interesting machine.

I will update my review after using it for a longer period, but based on the initial experience, I’m very impressed and very happy with the purchase.

This is great.  It’s a device I’d love to try myself with hard floors throughout.
