Dear customers, hello. Regarding the situation where the power decreases by 1% every minute, I would like to answer this question: the battery power percentage does not decrease linearly. When the device is in standby mode, the power decreases faster in the early stage than in the later stage, similar to the power loss perception of a mobile phone at the beginning of full charge. The actual battery capacity is normal. The standby power is about 4w, and the power attenuation after one night (10 hours) is about 50%-60%.

If the machine does not enter standby mode after being placed for more than 10 minutes, and the light ring is always on, then there is indeed an abnormality. You can check the power attenuation after being fully charged for 10 hours.

Dear Dreame support

I hope you read this and will respond because I was stuck in a loop with your aftersales departement and no clear answer concerning powermanagement / drainage during use

I had the X40; excellent with powermanagement! I could do thorough (vacuüm and mop) cleaning for the entire house on one charge 1,5 times and cost arround 3 hours (plus). Batterylife was / is super and no drainage!

The x50 consumes 1% per minute in every mode or setting and takes arround 8 hours (plus) because it has to charge multiple times for the same house.

For me stand-by is not relevant I am talking about production.

Everything will take longer because of the huge battery drainage. This is not Dreame.

Could you please answer the following questions:

Why is there a huge drainage compared to the X40 and other brands for this high-en model?

Is this going to be solved by firmware?

Is it a defect?

Is it what it is?

Hope to hear from you soon with concrete answers.

We all have the same issues and mentioned in third party reviews.

Regards

Hello!
Since the X50 series has a double roller brush, one more brush than the X40 series, the motor consumes power faster than the X40; at the same time, the X50 series has stronger obstacle crossing and recognition capabilities than the 40 series, and these new features will also increase power consumption.

We are already planning to optimize the battery life of the X50 series through a new firmware version. It is expected that in the next version, we will launch a power saving mode cleaning, which is expected to increase the battery life by about ten minutes.

Hi Dreame Support,

Thanks for your quick response.

In all honestly 10 minutes is something but not much…

I understand your explantion!

But it would have been better to equip the X50 (by design) with a heavier battery knowing that new features consume more battery power.

It is and will stay a big downside that a flagship model has to recharge multiple times and cleaning in total will take considerable more time….

Is a battery swap for a heavier model an option for the issue?

When will the firmware be released?

Sorry. Due to hardware limitations, ten minutes is the best we can do.
Thank you for your suggestion. We will pay more attention to the battery life when developing new products in the future.

Replacing a larger battery will definitely solve this problem, but we haven't had a case of replacing a higher power battery. The probability of producing two batteries with different power for the same model is very small.

In addition, we have not received any notification about the firmware update time, so I cannot tell you when the next update will be. If you have suggestions for software updates, we are very happy to feedback your opinions to the R&D department.

Hi Dreame Support,

Thanks for all the information.

Clear; we wait for the firmware update and go from there.

Maybe you can sign me up to be one of the beta-testers for the X60 😀

Have a nice day!

I got a mailadress for this specific departement from aftersales.

Already send them 2 e-mails since February but no response.

Maybe you can put in a good word! 😇
