[L40s Pro Ultra] Number of issues with brand new robot

I bought L40s pro ultra a month ago. Since day one there are problems with it, and i am very disappointed.

1. Robot unable to dock by itself most of the times. It tries to enter the dock station but fails to, until it gives up eventually. Then i have to do myself.
2. Robot unable to get out of the dock station, saying something wrong with mop pads: "Mop Pads off. Please install them to resume cleaning". The pods seems in place and nothing wrong with them. Only after I take the robot out by myself, unplug the map pods and install them again, only then the robot starts cleaning.
3. The robot leaves noticable dirt even after double cleaning the kitchen.

Attached some video recordings.

Very disappointing experience so far.

check that the dock has plenty of clear space around it and wipe the robot sensors and dock ramp because dirt can make docking fail. for the mop pad error try removing both pads, check they are aligned properly and reinstall them, then restart the robot so it detects them again. for the kitchen dirt try higher suction and two cleaning passes. if it still cannot dock or keeps showing mop pad errors after that it might be a faulty unit so contacting support for a replacement is probably the best option

The dock has plenty of space around it. The robot enter the dock up to the point where it tries to plug into the vaccum slots and could not. Its like it missed by milimeters the spot. It tries again several time but did not align itself properly.I already done uninstall and install the mop pads several times, and the the problem keep happening.I had a Roborock s6 robot for years and never faced these issues. Having these issues for far more expensive and advanced robot is disappointing.

robot docks are designed to sit against a flat wall so the robot can use its sensors to align itself when reversing into the charging contacts. if the wall behind the dock is curved, the robot can misjudge its angle slightly and miss the contacts by a few millimeters, which matches what you’re describing. i’d try moving the dock to a spot against a straight wall with some open space around it and see if the docking improves.

Hello, thank you for contacting Dreame.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Based on your description of the device's inability to return to the base station, you can troubleshoot using the following steps:

1. Please check if the charger plug is loose and ensure the charging dock/base station is powered on.

2. Place the robot 1-2 meters away from the charging dock/base station and briefly press the charging button on the robot. If the robot still cannot return to the charging dock/base station, please contact us for further assistance.

3. If the robot can return to the charging dock/base station, please follow these instructions:

The charging dock/base station needs to be placed against a wall. It is recommended to place the dock in a relatively open area, ensuring there are no obstructions within 1.5 meters in front of and 0.5 meters to the sides.

Keep it away from sources of signal interference, such as routers and televisions.

There should be no reflective surfaces behind the robot, such as mirrors or windows.

4. When cleaning, ensure the robot is started from the charging dock/base station and check that the LDS laser sensor on top of the robot is rotating normally.

5. During cleaning, check if the robot's main wheels are slipping, stuck, or blocked. Also check if the base station expansion board is dirty or contains foreign objects. If so, clean it immediately to prevent the machine from jamming.

6. If the above issues are resolved, try restarting the robot. Open the robot's top cover to begin cleaning, press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds to reset the robot, then move the base to an open area and try again.

Please note that resetting the machine will erase all data, including any maps you have created. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

7. If you have moved the charging base/base station, please place the robot back on the base and begin cleaning from there.

If the problem persists, please feel free to contact us. Thank you for your understanding.

Based on your description of the device reporting a mop not installed error, you can troubleshoot using the following steps:

Please check the mop bracket mounting area for dirt or dust, as this may affect installation recognition. If the area is dirty, thoroughly clean the affected area and test the machine to see if the problem is resolved.

If the problem persists, you can contact our after-sales team and provide photos of your purchase invoice and serial number (see attached image) for further assistance. Please also inform the after-sales team that you have completed initial troubleshooting.

For any further questions, please feel free to contact us. Thank you for your understanding.

It seems its a faulty device... Its common issue with Dreame. I regret buying Dreame and should have stick with Roborock. I have r6 for years and it perfectly works fine until now. A brand new robot worth fortune but could dock and undock itself without saying "help me, i am in trouble" is a bad engineering.

No one to blame but my self now. I bought it from Germany and shipped it with me back him. Bad mistake!!!

I should have done a better market investigation!!!
