When X40 maps floor with removable carpets

Once the mapping is completed and the carpets are recognized, correct operation of mopping and vacuuming takes place.  When the carpet is deleted from the original map but still remains on the floor, the mopping continues over the carpet, where before deletion, vacuuming and mopping worked correctly.  What I do not understand is WHY the carpet is not automatically recognized?  Once the mapped carpet is deleted, the X40 FAILS to recognize the same carpet object.  The X40 now fails to recognize carpets in normal operation that were in the original map.  This is a serious bug that needs to be fixed ASAP.

When the original mapping was completed and various carpet were identified, the x40 performed well.  When the carpets were deleted from the map, it mopped correctly.  When going to restore the map containing the identified carpets, they were not in the saved map.  What is disturbing is that the x40 was able to recognize and map a diagonal carpet, but now is lost.  The manual add carpets do not allow this to be added in a diagonal pattern.  Why does this correctly map a diagonal carpet, but to manually add a diagonal carpet is not possuble?

This problem was reported 8 months ago and is a know issue. The app now shows a circle carpet, which again does not solve the problem. When wll this be corrected?

Bought an L10s Ultra Gen 2 and had it for about a week, but it went completely crazy apparently a motherboard and component failure. I ended up returning it after 4 weeks at service center. A few days ago I bought an X40 Ultra, and this one also has serious issues. It behaves better than my L10s did, but what’s going on with carpets and the robot constantly getting confused?

It detects carpets, but the next time it thinks the carpet is bigger? It often just stands there “thinking,” goes back to where it came from, rotates and spins around. My old reliable Ecovacs  which cost a fraction of what these new ones do has a carpet sensor that actually works and has never given me problems.

I’m going to test this X40 for another week… but I’m starting to get really annoyed. I’m spending a ridiculous amount of time on something that’s supposed to make life easier, not create more work.
