[L40 Ultra] Floor types

Having issues with the machine identifying spots of the hardfloor as carpet which it then circles and won't mop. I can't seem to delete these from the map. There is a rug in the same room which it vacuums accordingly. I had that marked as carpet but deleted it to see if it helped. Any ideas?

That sounds like the carpet detection is getting “stuck” on those patches, so it treats them as a no-mop area and keeps re-checking.

A few things to try:
1.        App settings
Go into the map for that floor and look for something like Carpet recognition / Carpet detection (sometimes under Floor Cleaning settings). Toggle it off, save, then start a mop run and see if it still circles those spots. If that fixes it, turn it back on and see if it reappears.
2.        Map edit not saving
In Edit Map, check you are in the Carpet/Floor type editor (not just no-go zones). Some versions only let you remove carpets if you are in the right edit mode. After deleting, hit save, then force-close the app and reopen to confirm it actually saved.
3.        Re-map the room
If the carpet patches keep coming back or cannot be deleted, a fresh map often fixes it. Quick option is to delete just that floor level and re-create it.
4.        Sensor and surface checks
Clean the underside sensors and the area around the brush. Also worth saying, shiny/dark patches, strong sunlight, or a patterned floor can trigger false carpet detection. If those “carpet spots” line up with a mat edge, a shadow, or a glossy tile section, that’s usually why.

Also what type of hard floor is it (dark tile, glossy, patterned)?

You should be able to delete that map and scan a new one. This should resolve the issue
