How secure are the live feeds

Came across an article today....User accidentally gains control of over 6,700 robot vacuums while tinkering with their own device to enable control with a PlayStation controller — security flaw reveals floor plans and live feeds...

Would love to know before I enable how secure our data is....do we have a security feature to access our own feed via the app, or is it just there waiting to be accessed. Have yet to enable and this is kinda one of the reasons I haven’t, also how easy is it to disable??

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for raising this very important question. Regarding the security of live video and data, please allow us to provide the following clarification:

Your data and live video feed are secure. When you first enable the video function, you will be required to set up an activation code, and you will need to enter this code each time you access the live feed. In addition, whenever the camera is activated, the robot will announce via voice prompt that the camera is on, and this voice notification cannot be disabled.

All video streams recorded by the robot are transmitted to your app in an encrypted environment. We do not collect or store any of your photos or videos during this process. Any photos or videos you intentionally capture will be saved to your phone’s gallery, and we have no access to this content.

The camera/video function is strictly opt‑in. If you do not activate it, the feature will not run in the background and no footage will be uploaded. You may disable or revoke the permission at any time.

You can also find the “Live Video” option in the app settings and review the Live Video Privacy Policy there for more details.
