Dreame X50 Ultra – issue with light rugs (and a simple fix)

Has anyone else had problems with the X50 Ultra struggling with lighter rugs?

Mine tends to catch them slightly and “scuff” or move them around, especially on higher suction. It’s clearly very powerful, but I think that’s part of the issue with thinner rugs.

I’ve found a simple workaround that works really well:
👉 Using a bit of double-sided tape underneath the rug to keep it in place.

Since doing that, it runs over them without any problems.

Would be interested to know if others have found better solutions (settings tweaks, rug grippers, etc.), or if this is just a trade-off with the higher suction models.

Your method is excellent regarding the issue of thin carpets being easily sucked up by robots. Of course, we also recommend using anti-slip mats to secure the four corners, increasing friction and preventing the carpet from shifting.

Our model has a setting where you can activate raising the robot for carpets- I’m guessing this is for shaggy carpets, but we have found this setting stops our thin rugs being sucked up like yours. It’s under carpet cleaning settings.
