Good day,
I purchased a Dreame A2 2000 just a few days ago and noticed an issue while creating the map.
My property includes a house, sauna, summer kitchen, terrace, greenhouse, and several other permanent structures. I marked all of them as No-Go Zones, but their area is still included in the total mapped area.
This creates a strange situation: the mower will never cut these areas, the structures will never move, and they will always remain obstacles, yet they still consume part of the mower's area capacity.
In my case, the actual mowable lawn area is more than 500 square meters smaller than what the map reports.
Another reason why this is frustrating is that I specifically chose the A2 2000 model because my real lawn area is well below 2000 m². Based on the published specifications, I expected the mower's capacity to correspond to the actual area of grass that needs mowing.
I deliberately did not purchase the A2 3000 because I simply do not have 3000m² and even 2000m² of lawn. Only after purchasing the mower, creating the map, and putting it into operation did I discover that permanent buildings and other non-mowable areas can significantly increase the reported area.
A common suggestion is to split the lawn into multiple zones connected by paths, but that is not practical for every property. My lawn is continuous, with grass surrounding the buildings on all sides, so creating separate zones connected by narrow corridors is almost impossible.
Because of this, I now have to spend time trying to redesign and optimize the map layout just to recover enough area capacity for real lawn that actually needs mowing. It feels counterintuitive that permanent buildings and structures reduce the available capacity while the actual mowable area is much smaller.
It would be very useful to have an option to exclude permanent objects from the total area calculation. For example, if a No-Go Zone is marked as a house, terrace, sauna, greenhouse, shed, or another permanent structure, its area could automatically be deducted from the total mapped area.
In my opinion, the 2000m² capacity limits should be based on the actual mowable lawn area rather than the entire area enclosed by the outer boundary of the map.
Are there any plans to add such a feature in future updates? Thank you.
