[X50 Ultra Complete] Why does it clean the mops even when not mopping?

Set my X50 to clean the living room and dining room on Genius Clean. It is all carpet and no mopping is required. Yet at the end of the hoovering it says “Robot will now start mopping”. It doesn’t move from the station and after a short time it starts cleaning the mops. This is not a good use of product or energy.

Worth setting those rooms to vacuum only rather than Genius Clean, that should stop it bothering with the mops at all.

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback.

In Genius Clean mode, the robot will automatically assess the actual condition of the mop pads and determine whether additional mop washing or mop washing combined with re-mopping is required. If the mop pads are detected as clean, no additional washing is usually performed. If the mop pads are detected as dirty, the robot may automatically perform an extra mop washing cycle, or a combination of mop washing and re-mopping, depending on the situation.

As Genius Clean mode automatically adjusts the cleaning process based on its algorithm, the robot may still perform mop maintenance-related actions even when the current task mainly involves vacuuming.

If you would like to avoid mop washing after a vacuum-only task, we recommend using Custom Cleaning mode and setting the relevant rooms to Vacuum Only. In this mode, the robot will follow your specified cleaning settings and can avoid triggering mop washing when no mopping has been performed.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
