[L40s Pro Ultra] Confused multi floor mapping

Hi.. just bought my l40s and it’s brilliant!
But.. I want to do multi floor..I’ve done
Add new map
Placed robot on the floor
Start mapping
It spends 15 minutes mapping
Says “mapping complete, returning to dock”
Then continues exploring the floor
Will it eventually stop?
Should I change from intelligent to manual?
Thanks?

With no dock on that floor it can't go back to one, so just let it finish and it'll stop on its own. Did it save the second map in the end?

Hello,

When creating a map on a floor where there is no base station, the robot will automatically return to its starting point once the mapping process has been completed. Under normal circumstances, the map is automatically saved after the robot returns to that starting location.

We recommend checking whether, after mapping is complete, the robot returns correctly to the place where it started and whether the app displays any error messages or other abnormal behavior.

In addition, when performing mapping or cleaning tasks on a floor without a base station, we recommend temporarily disabling the automatic mop washing and automatic dust collection functions. This helps prevent the robot from attempting to locate the base station during the task, which could lead to unexpected issues. After disabling these functions, please try mapping the floor again.

For more information:

Multi-floor Map Management

For the first mapping process, the robot must start from the base station. The first map will be saved automatically once the robot returns after completing the mapping task.
When the Multi-floor option is enabled, the robot will return to its starting point after completing mapping or cleaning on a floor without a base station.
When using the Multi-floor feature, if the Smart Recognition option appears when switching between maps, please select this option first. Otherwise, the map must be switched manually.

If the saved map appears distorted, the cleaning routes are incorrect, or the robot shows abnormal cleaning behavior, please delete the map and perform the cleaning and mapping process again.

Notes:

Before mopping, wash the mop pads through the app or dampen them manually.
If the robot returns to the base station during a task and is then moved back to the original target floor within 15 minutes, it will automatically resume the task.

We hope this information is helpful.
