Living in the countryside means peace, space, and the simple joy of jumping into the pool on hot summer days.
Around here, the pool is the center of everything , from lazy afternoons with the family to loud, fun-filled parties with music, laughter, and our dogs leaping in right beside us. Yep, they love the water just as much as we do!
But as magical as those moments are, the cleanup afterward?
Not so magical. Leaves and debris from the trees are a constant issue, and having dogs in the mix means pet hair everywhere. Floating on the surface, stuck to the bottom... even with regular cleaning, it’s a never-ending job.

1️⃣ My Unforgettable Poolside Moments
Ah, last summer! Between barbecues by the water, children's water bombs, and our cocktail evenings, my seaside pool was THE star of all our weekends. I remember that Sunday when 15 friends gathered at our house for our impromptu "Pool Olympics" - inner tube races, diving contests, and a memorable water battle!

Not to forget our legendary midnight swims! Those magical moments when, after a barbecue, we would dive into crystal-clear water under a starry sky. Our guests couldn't believe it: "How can you have such clear water even at night?" And those August shooting star viewing evenings, floating serenely in an immaculate pool while our children tried to count the constellations...

BUT WHAT MY GUESTS DIDN'T KNOW: the evening before, I spent 2 hours cleaning the bottom and walls, tracking down leaves, SAND (the nightmare of seaside pool owners, but not only!), insects, and that stubborn waterline that resisted all my efforts... 😓

It was my secret ritual before each party. Hunched over, net in hand, I transformed into a debris hunter so that no one would guess my battle against algae and sand grains that crunch underfoot! The worst part? These hours stolen from my family. While they enjoyed the summer, I struggled with my equipment. And when I stopped cleaning for a few days? Disaster would set in.

If only my guests knew the REAL CHALLENGES of owning a pool near the sea:

The SAND, this permanent plague: it gets EVERYWHERE, especially on the access steps where it forms real "miniature beaches" impossible to eliminate

The access steps: that mandatory passage point where NO ONE (especially not children) bothers to rinse off when coming back from the beach!
The urgency of windy days: when suddenly the whole gang arrives from the beach without warning because the wind has picked up and the pool becomes the saving "Plan B"
Honestly, who can blame an excited child for running directly from the beach to the pool without going through the shower? Result: my pool regularly became an extension of the neighboring beach, with its fine sand that resisted my basic vacuum cleaners.
