Suggestion for Dreame X50 Ultra: Improvements for Battery Management, Cleaning History, and Remote Camera Control.
I just wanted to say how incredibly happy I am with my Dreame X50 Ultra. It has exceeded all my expectations—from its powerful suction and intelligent navigation to the convenience of the self-cleaning and auto-empty system. It’s genuinely one of the most advanced and well-thought-out smart appliances I’ve ever owned, and I’ve been recommending it to friends and family already.
With that said, I believe there are a few small feature additions—likely achievable with minimal software tweaks—that could push the X50 Ultra from “excellent” to “absolutely perfect.”
1. Adjustable Battery Return Threshold
Right now, the robot returns to the dock automatically at 15% battery, and while I understand the safety buffer, there’s no option to adjust this. In a recent clean, my robot had just a few minutes left—work it could have easily completed with the remaining battery—but it returned prematurely. I think giving users the option to customize this threshold or allow the robot to calculate whether it has enough power to finish the current job would be a fantastic quality-of-life improvement.
2. Battery Usage Info in Cleaning History
The cleaning history is already useful with time and area data, but it would be even better if it included how much battery was used per session. That kind of info would help users better understand the robot's efficiency, plan cleanings more effectively, and track performance over time. It’s a small change that could provide great insights for power users.
3. Camera Tilt Function in Remote Mode
The remote camera mode is a brilliant feature, and I love being able to check in on things remotely. However, it would be amazing if we could tilt the front camera upward while in this mode. I’ve noticed the robot already tilts its camera upward when navigating over obstacles, so the hardware clearly supports it. Adding this control would significantly improve visibility and make the camera feature even more useful for home monitoring.
These are just small suggestions for an already amazing machine. I truly love my X50 Ultra and am so impressed with the quality and innovation that Dreame continues to deliver. I’d be thrilled to see any or all of these ideas considered in a future software update!
